The Fifth Birth

According to the science there are five births in human life. Cellular birth is the first birth. It is followed by the biological and then psychological birth. These three births take their place rapidly in our life, because they are mandatory. We don’t have to take any extra efforts to make them happen. But to achieve the fourth & the fifth birth, we struggle in life.

The fourth birth is Social birth. It is said that a person, in his life, requires ‘Pride & recognition’ more than sex & money. We all want to be famous. In colleges, schools, offices people are always striving to make their social image. We need a different face in the society. And unfortunately, everyone can’t get it. Because a lot of patience & sacrifice is required for this birth.

The fifth & last birth is spiritual birth. 90% of the people are satisfied with the social birth & that is why spiritual birth remains unexplored part of our life. Getting spiritually born is the completion of the birth cycle. But we hardly care about it. We are not at all interested in spirituality. And that is the biggest mistake we make in life. Because this birth has answers to all the questions that are formed in our mind.

What exactly is spirituality then? Nobody can explain. But I will tell you what I read in a book. The name of the book was ‘Towards the silver crest of Himalayas.’ The leading character in the book is a dynamic college student who is jack of all the things. He has a pleasant personality & is very charming. The story changes its gears after some pages. This young man meets a ‘sanyasi’ in a seminar. The sanyasi seizes the talent in this young man & tells him to walk on the spiritual path instead of having a family.

He further says, if you choose the path everybody else has chosen, you’ll end up getting a nice job, handsome payment; you’ll have a beautiful wife & a few children. But, what after that? Your happiness will be limited in the boundaries. If you choose to come with me, I will assure you the happiness which has no limits. The clouds of your success won’t have the silver linings of sorrow or doubt. You will have to stay with me for two years. If you regret your decision after that, you can come back to the normal life. The young man accepts the offer. And after the two years of solitude, he finds himself born spiritually.

We say that human beings are the smartest creatures on earth, but how many of us are really smart? Eating, drinking, sleeping & enjoying are the common activities of humans & animals. Then what separates us from the animals? Have we forgotten that or we are simply ignoring it? We are not supposed to give up everything & leave for meditation in Himalayas. But we are supposed to control our consumerism. We are supposed to rise above the personal differences & materialistic aspirations.

You might think that this is not the age to think about such things. This is the age of dreaming the impossible, walking along with somebody in the evening, smiling without the reason, dancing in the rain, sharing incomplete love stories & funny experiences. But what if I tell you, that all the things that we enjoy are actually the déjà vu’s of the spiritual birth. If these small things can give us the happiness & memories of lifetime, just imagine, what will the spiritual birth offer you?
May you get born spiritually as early as possible to enjoy the maximum period of your life!
