Yes, I can see light at the end of the tunnel...

Wonders happen in life, you just have to be alert to receive them. India realized this after a 73 year old man, Anna Hazare, took the charge to eliminate the corruption from India. The disease of corruption has weakened the sovereign state of India since a couple of decades. A lot of lives are ruined. The development has lost its momentum. Corrupt politicians & governmental officers have earned a lot of money, giving birth to the mafias.
The common man in India was silent for all these years. There was frustration behind this silence. People had lost their faith in politics. For the votes, the political parties were ready to go to any level. They were hitting new lows. Democracy had lost its meaning. It was very difficult to hope for the better conditions. Politics was not a prestigious field anymore. It had turned into the safe zone for mafias & goons.
Fortunately, Television & print media started blaming government for the frauds like Hawala racket, commonwealth games & 2G spectrum. Big names were involved in these cases including the politicians, industrialists & governmental officers. When the situation was returning to the normal position & politicians were once again getting the advantage of ignorance of people, Anna pulled the issue of Lokpal bill to eliminate corruption. And thanks to media, people supported him in abundance.
Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Pune, everywhere people gathered to condemn corruption & to support the Lokpal bill. A woman in Delhi expressed her feelings in a few words. “It is good to see that somebody has finally, successfully provided leadership for this movement. My father paid 50 rs to the corrupt officers as he was helpless. I pay 500 rs, because I’m helpless too. But, I don’t want my children to pay 5000 rs to this corrupt system. I want them to live a better life which is free of corruption.”
The old saying goes, ‘you can not close the eyes of the world’, which means you can not stop the world from knowing the truth though you don’t want to know it. It is applicable to the corrupt people in today’s world. It is said that the darkest hour of night is just before the dawn. Maybe this is the darkest hour for us, in which we will have to face worst conditions. But the morning is at the door-step.
In the 40’s, a great man, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, known as Mahatma Gandhi gathered billions of Indians to fight for the freedom. The common man stood by Gandhiji to fight against the injustice. In 1947, India became an independent nation. Whenever the crisis occurred, we have shown the opponent our strength.
Today, after 60 years, the crisis has occurred once again. This time it is not caused by the outsiders, but by the insiders. And yet again, we are on the verge of creating history. We have proved again that the union is strength. I hope we will see light at the end of the tunnel.
