The youth religion

I switched on the television as I was getting bored sitting at home. Babri masjid verdict was going to be declared soon. Therefore, I was prohibited to go out of the house. The reason was possibility of communal riots. That day proved the fear of the riots in the mind of common man as the roads were empty. Buses were running without passengers. Shops were closed. Everybody was praying for peace. Soon, the results were declared & peace was maintained in the country as promised by the leaders. And India could finally take a sigh of relief. Media played a vital role in maintaining the peace.

Since 1947, India is suffering from the communal riots. Thousands of innocent people have been killed till date in these riots. Gandhiji had said that, ‘eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.’ That was happening in India for many years. Nobody could understand that this was the main obstacle in the way of development for India. Somebody says, 1000 Hindus were killed, somebody says, 1000 Muslims were killed. But no-one ever notices that 2000 humans were killed.

Somehow, we saw a totally different scenario this time. How did this miracle happen?  The answer is, we are standing at the beginning of a new era of humanity. One religion has started growing rapidly in India. It is the youth religion. A religion, whose boundaries are wider than imagination, which respects every thought & every belief, which is work & development oriented. And most important of all, which is anti-extremist & anti-racist.

I am a part of this youth religion. I’ve seen & experienced how the young people hate orthodox behavior. How they all stood together in the time of crisis. And I have to say, nobody can break this unity. The new world, 21st century revolves around a hard & fast life. Priorities have changed drastically, Education has created wonders.
We celebrate Diwali, Eid, and Christmas together. We respect the space of others. And I am sure; Orthodoxy is at the verge of collapse.

Our Economics teacher once said, ‘A person who works for 8-10 hours a day can’t even get time to think about such evil & foolish thoughts. Empty mind is the house of evil, always remain busy enough to block the unwanted & destructive thoughts in your mind.’ Whatever she said, I think, it is the backbone of ‘youth religion’. It is time to dream bigger, it is time to think bigger. And this ‘Bigger’ involves everybody in the society with the principle of equality. We dream a new world, where life is much better, easier & full of enthusiasm. Where, there is no place for hatred & anger. Where people live together happily. We are a new religion, Youth religion.

You may say that I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one
I hope some day you’ll join us, and the world will live as one….
