Sight can be defective, but vision can't...

Today I was seeing a movie. I’m always keen about the quotes in films. Sometimes, those quotes are life changing. The actor in movie says, ‘What lies in front of you, is a part of your sight. But when you see what lies before you in future, it becomes your vision. Try to strengthen the vision. Because sight can be defective, but vision can’t.’ I liked the quote very much.

Without vision, we really can’t progress in life. To become a good entrepreneur, a good politician, a good farmer, a good teacher or even a good person, vision is a must. Action without vision can prove to be a nightmare. I’ll explain it to you with a good example.

A friend of mine, used to like a girl very much. He was very shy, and didn’t even had the courage to stand in-front of her. It happens with most of us. But he was over-scared. He used to talk about her every now & then. He couldn’t think of any other girl. We said, ‘dude, it is serious… go & talk with her. At least try to be a friend of her. After telling this, he finally agreed… Then gathering his courage, he directly asked her out. She knew that he had a crush on her & liked him too.
He was expecting a ‘No’ or a slow response. But she said ‘Yes’. And my poor friend couldn’t respond properly to this golden opportunity. He became totally blank. All my friends started laughing. He found it embarrassing & ran away. Till date, he hasn’t even talked with any girl. I feel sorry for him.

This was joke for all of us, but not for him. It was an indelible impression of failure on his mind. He never expected certain probabilities, in other words, he dismissed the probability of her saying ‘Yes.’ And the result is, she has a boyfriend today.
This happens every time, if we lack the vision… & believe me, it hurts a lot.

Vision is an art of seeing what is invisible to others. We see only what we are prepared to see. We refuse to accept everything else & that is the biggest mistake we commit. That is why Helen Keller has said, “The most pathetic person in life is someone who has sight, but no vision.” Your vision is the promise of what you shall be one day. Vision is not just the clear picture of what could be, it is an appeal to our better selves. It is a call to become something more. With vision there is no room to be frightened, no reason for intimidation. Have the vision TO BE.
