"A --------------------- B Phenomenon"

I am not a good student of Mathematics. Actually, I always hated maths, because I always used to score less marks in it when I was in school. Mathematics was my arch rival. I always ignored it. I opted for Arts & took the subjects of my liking & thought that; now at least, I’m free from clutches of Mathematics. But, I wasn’t lucky enough. Mathematics followed me everywhere I went. But the meaning of it was totally different. Now, it wasn’t about marks or solving problems. It was about the basic concepts on which Maths is built.

In Geometry, it is taught that a ray travels from Point ‘A’ to Point ‘B’. i.e. only in one direction. I have never heard that the same ray has traveled from Point ‘B’ to Point ‘A’. It keeps on going only in one direction. No matter what happens, ‘B’ never walks to ‘A’. When I heard it for the first time in school, I never realized the biggest secret behind it. As I grew up & the level of my maturity increased, I learned to see a coin from both the sides. And, accidentally the secret was revealed.

This A to B phenomenon is applicable in our life. In-fact, knowing about it is very essential to be successful in life. As we all know, the journey starts from A & continues till infinity because we can place B anywhere. But first of all, it has to start from A. Let us consider ‘A’ as ourselves & ‘B’ as happiness, prosperity, fulfillment or any such desire.

Our mindset is, these things will come to us one day. So we wait at the same place for years & wonder, how others seem to get the things I always wish for?

Well, happiness & success are a part of ‘B’. If you want to achieve them, you’d better get going. They are not going to come to you; but they are going to welcome you if you approach them.

Very often, we don’t understand this little thing that a ray teaches us. You have to keep walking. In your way, you’ll get B’s; sometimes you’ll get confused as you’ll not see any sign of B’s. You’ll think that this journey is infinite. It would have been better if I had stopped at A. Wait, don’t get into this madness, because life is all about walking in the search of B’s. And B’s are not the destinations. They are a part of this long & endless journey.

If life’s a train, B’s are the beautiful landscapes, mountains, rivers & lakes. They give joy to us, but we don’t stop there forever. Because, we want to search for the more that is in store for us. Christopher Columbus had once said, ‘You can never cross the ocean until you have the courage to lose sight of the shore.’ It is true. You can not discover yourself if you don’t travel.

A to B phenomenon is very useful in our life. That is one of the principles that I found connection with. But it doesn’t mean, that Maths teaches us only this much. I’m sure if you search for the meanings of different theories, you’ll learn new meanings out of them. Some of us, I’m sure, will say that I’m an Idiot. Mathematics is all about practical uses. It has nothing to do with this emotional stuff. Well, then OK, I’m an Idiot. But that is how I see it. Remember that you’re ‘A’. Never lose the faith to get happiness & success, think positive, may you get a lot of B’s in you’re life. :)
